Motherboards
The motherboard manufacturer generally does not matter. Only the chipset is relevant.
- A no-name Intel 815-based motherboard is much more likely to work than a name brand motherboard with a no-name chipset.
- VIA chipset boards are very common (and some are very nice), but beware... There are some nasty bugs in at least some VIA IDE chipsets.
- Avoid SiS chipsets. They're cheap, and it shows. (They do work though, so don't worry too much if you are stuck with one. :)
