More Advanced Qmail Features

Qmail supports anything you might require from a modern MTA. This includes:

• Virtual Domains
• Selective Mail Relaying
• Selective behavior depending on clients
• Function as Backup Mail Exchanger
• Complete loop detection
• Incoming and outgoing header rewriting
• pop3 daemon for Maildir
• Multiple pop3 accounts per user
• Mail delivery over NFS from several MTAs simultaneously

  This can be used to set up multiple machines the are mail exchangers for a domain and deliver via NFS to home directory machines. As long as one mail exchanger is up, mail gets delivered. If you home directory machine is down, your incoming mail is queued by the mail exchanger. Obviously, the home directory machines can be made redundant by other means.
