tcp_wrapper (tcpd)

This can be defined in /etc/inetd.conf to better control access to, and logging of, services.
You can control access based on a number of things - addresses, networks, domains, users (using identd), etc..
Configured by /etc/hosts.allow and /etc/hosts.deny
