When setting up a ezmlm mailing list that is archived, the corresponding digest list can be created with a simple command line switch. For the list "cooking@host.net" the digest list is called "cooking-digest@host.net".
The digest list functions just like the main list, except that it doesn't accept posts. Instead it disseminates digest every 2 days (default) or if the traffic volume has exceeded configurable criteria. To subscribe to the "cooking-digest", send a message to "cooking-digest-subscribe@host.net".
Digests are by default MIME, but the owner can set up the list to use other formats, e.g. rfc1153.
